This piece exists in a later version that was used as the fifth piece of Années de pèlerinage, Troisième année (S. 163; LW A283; R. 10e). It also exists in an intermediate version (S. 162c/ii) that has only minor differences to the final version.
The corresponding volume of the New Liszt Edition (Suppl. 14; Z. A/B 14763) contains the first of these versions, S. 162c/i, and describes this in detail in the preface, but mistakenly labels it as S. 162c/ii in the contents and heading.
