Contributors

After 8 years of work by a single contributor, pianolibrary.org has grown to contain a catalogue of more than 5000 pieces. With more contributors, however, the website can grow at an even faster rate.

We are looking for volunteers who would like to make contributions to the website. For a new composer to be added, the following are required:

i) List of solo works by that composer, split into sub-sections where applicable (e.g. movements of a sonata).
ii) Relevant information for each work, such as
- a) year of composition,
- b) references to catalogues (e.g. the BWV catalogue for Bach),
- c) approximate durations of works and sub-sections,
- d) miscellaneous information (e.g. that a work exists in multiple versions, or is an arrangement of a work by another composer).
iii) Typeset incipits (in Sibelius format) for each work (or sub-section).

No experience of website design is required: contributors' work will be uploaded to the website on their behalf. Some experience with typesetting incipits in Sibelius is helpful, but not necessary: it is possible to learn enough quite quickly with guidance.
