Johann Sebastian Bach

Fugue in G minor, BWV 1000

after 1720

This fugue is an arrangement, which is possibly spurious, for lute of the fugue from the sonata no. 1 for solo violin (BWV 1001). The arrangement works naturally and effectively for harpsichord (or piano). Bach also made an arrangement of the fugue for organ (BWV 539/2, in D minor).
