Johann Sebastian Bach

Suite in C minor, BWV 997

c. 1740

Total duration: 17' 30"

This suite was likely written for lute-harpsichord (BWV3 997.1) and later arranged for lute (BWV3 997.2, omitting the second and fifth movements). In many sources, there is an unnaturally large distance between the upper and lower voices; Bach likely intended the upper staff to be played an octave lower, as in the incipits given here.
