This concerto exists in two versions: one for solo organ and orchestra (HWV 305a) and one for solo organ (HWV 305b). In both cases the solo part can be played on an organ without pedal-board or, alternatively, a harpsichord or piano.
A version of the ouverture is used in the concerto à due cori in F major (HWV 334). The theme is also used in the ouverture in D major for two clarinets and horn (HWV 424).
