George Frideric Handel

La Marche in D major, HWV 417b

c. 1746–1747

The instrumentation of this piece is unspecified; the catalogue of Bernd Baselt describes it as for two horns (or oboes) and bassoon. This piece exists in an alternative, fragmentary version (HWV 417a) that specifies two horns and bass. A later version of the piece is also used as the chorus Flushed with conquest from the oratorio Alexander Balus (HWV 65).
