George Frideric Handel

Sonata in G major, HWV 579

c. 1707–1709

Handel wrote the sonata for a harpsichord with two manuals. The theme is also used in the aria Vo’ far guerra from the first version of the opera Rinaldo (HWV 7a), and in a prelude to the suite in G major (HWV 442).
