In the late-1830s, Liszt created extensive sketches for a piano concerto in E-flat major (S. 125a; LW Q6) based on themes from the Huit Variations (S. 148; LW A3; R. 27), Allegro di bravura (S. 151; LW A6; R. 30) and Rondo di bravura (S. 152; LW A7; R. 31). A performing version of the concerto has been prepared by Jay Rosenblatt.
