These pieces are arrangements of music from the ballet Cinderella (op. 87). Prokofiev also created three orchestral suites from the ballet: op. 107 (which includes nos. 3–5 of op. 102), op. 108 (which includes no. 1 of op. 102) and op. 109 (which includes no. 6 of op. 102). In his orchestral Waltz Suite (op. 110), Prokofiev included also versions of nos. 1 and 4 from op. 102.
